Start with the requirement
Coarser abrasives remove material and leave a deeper scratch pattern. Finer grades refine the surface. The correct starting point depends on the substrate, defects and stock-removal requirement.
Confirm compatibility
Move through grades progressively and inspect the workpiece between steps. Skipping grades can leave scratches that are difficult to remove later. Clean between stages to avoid coarse particle contamination.
Prepare your enquiry
Grit designations are not interchangeable between all grading systems. Confirm the grading standard, abrasive type and availability in the quotation. Always follow your machine and abrasive safety instructions.
