What is a flap disc?
A backing plate carries overlapping coated-abrasive flaps for grinding, blending or finishing, depending on the specified grade. It is different from a bonded grinding wheel or cut-off wheel.
Which abrasive should I request for metal?
Aluminium oxide, zirconia alumina and ceramic grades are selection possibilities. Choose by the actual workpiece, load and finish; confirm the supplied grain separately from the displayed color.
How should I choose grit?
Coarser grit is considered for stock removal; finer grit refines scratches. Evaluate a sequence against the required finish. P40–P60 and P80–P120 are general selection examples, not a confirmed MOTAI supply range.
Can grinding and finishing be combined?
The required stages depend on the weld, workpiece and finish criteria. Agree the process through a sample trial; no universal one-pass result is claimed.

Does the color identify the abrasive type?
No. Color is a display option. The abrasive material and grit must be confirmed separately.
